Sandals are shoes which has probably been around for the longest time. During ancient times, people had a concept of defending the sole of the foot with a strip of leather or other material, and straps were engineered to keep them attached to the foot. Thus, sandals were born!

Today sandals serve the same purpose, but there are so many different styles and we also have so many different types of comfortable shoes, that they really are more than just practical and functional. As a matter of fact, you can make quite a statement with your sandals these days.

High heel sandals are so popular and can in fact be so formal in appearance that many women opt for just this type of shoe for their wedding footwear. They can be truly elegant and are perfect for a summer wedding or a marriage taking place in a warm climate.

Another type of shoe that will get attention is a pair of silver dress sandals. Any time you wear footwear in a metallic shade, you know your feet will get noticed, but silver dress sandals also provide the perfect complement to a black outfit that you wear in the evening. The accent of silver to an otherwise rather conservative ensemble really is the perfect touch.

Sandals are the perfect summer footwear, but for women with fashion sense they can be much more than that. There are few things that make you feel more feminine than a pair of high heel sandals or silver dress sandals to be worn for a night out on the town.
